Why to live in the San Rafael Neighbourhood ?

In the beginning, it was designed to be inhabited by the San Carlos Academy architects, in fact for a period of time it was known as the “ Architect´s Neighbourhood”. Its streets received names of the positivists philosophers, who based their ideals on Augusto Comte thoughts as well as Jaime Torres Bodet, Serapio Rendón, Dr. Alt, etc.

Since its beginnings, it was inhabited by a variety of social classes. Likewise it is possible to see fabulous mansions as well as private residential blocks of different sizes and some classic neighbourhoods. The very first neighbours were aristocrats, businessmen and workers who got a job in the city.

This neighbourhood was also a witness of the rising-up Mexican cinema golden era. On its streets there is the Opera Cinema, which was opened in 1949. The building, inspired in the Art Deco style, fills us with longing to imagine how it could have been to watch an old Hitchcock movie on those huge screens.

It is the oldest neighbourhood in the city, therefore one of the richest in history and urban myths. Many people said that rebels passed over there during the revolution. It is located closely to the Historic Centre of Mexico City with access to a variety of public transportation.

When we say that this neighbourhood has everything, it’s because it does. Plus, recently the street vendors and neighbours have reported seeing strange lights in the sky, which are supposed to be UFO´s
